ABOUT PROPHECY

Isaiah tells us that God's ways are not man's ways. God words, the words of true prophecy are also not like man's words. God's words start out as small seedlings, but over time they grow, give off branches, form buds, and finally burst into bloom. Just so, the word "Israel" starts out as the tiny seed of one man named Abraham, but through the ages, the word "Israel" grows, changes, and finally bursts forth into the brotherhood of all mankind.
Words of prophecy often have past, present, and future connotations. Each word demands tremendous respect and study of all the contexts of its usage. Reverence for the sources of prophecy is the key to its study, for it is God who must lead our minds into the understanding of what He Himself has inspired.
Without the indwelling spirit there would be no true prophecy and no interpretation of prophecy. But reason and the scientific method are also critical for the elimination of error, and for the building of a strong foundation from whence inspired intuition may leap safely. Therefore, both reason and faith are necessary for the complete appreciation of prophecy, just as they are for the full appreciation of all other phenomena. April 3, 2008

It seems to me comparative prophecy is important to study in these times. For those who use discernment in their studies will find what they are looking for... for there is nothing new under the sun. It is not difficult to accept that we are clearly at the end of an age. This has been foretold over and over again. It's up to us, individually, to grow in consciousness so that we can get through this enormously challenging period in the earth's history. Jackson, Washington State

We're hearing more and more about prophecy these days. It's confusing to know the truth since there is so much out there. Comparative prophecy makes more sense, thus less confusion. Thanks for posting. Judith, Maine

Good review of the Roache book. Also looked it up on Amazon. I like how Dr. Roache took from the Old Testament the great prophets' wisdom of the ages. Thank you!

Thanks Sam. You will find the Kingdom book a powerful read. It will deepen your understanding of current world events and humanity's role in this amazing age in which we live. The prophets of old knew what they were writing about. Too few people can grasp the significance and power of their words. Let us know if we can be of any assistance. IN OUR OWN WAY

With the way the world is going we would be smart to look to the truth of prophecy (especially comparative prophecy) to gain a better understanding of the events that seem to change day by day. jonathan, MS
