The "Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" presents the most challenging and far reaching presentation of comparative prophecy to date.

This is a book of revelation and inspiration to the reader whose life's work is a search for truth. It is also a "must read" for those who seek to understand and interpret current world events and the future of humanity.

This is not a book based on prediction. Is is a scholarly work that challenges the reader to take a hard look at the relevancy of true prophecy and the value of one's spiritual heritage running through the centuries to the barren times of a materialistic age. It is a unified interpretation of the Old Testament Prophets, the Dead Sea Scrolls, 1 Enoch and the Urantia Book. The author also weaves together the work of 20th century prophets Emily Dickenson and Walt Whitman.

Words of true prophecy often have past, present and future connotations. Reverence for the source of prophecy is the key to its study. The prophets of old have foretold our current age and the future of humanity and offer the most complete understanding of our troubled world that exists today.

This book has been in manuscript form since 1999 and was published in 2004. The true test of prophecy is the march of time and the historical events that are unfolded in our lives. So far the tenets and explanation provided by this book are passing the test of time with remarkable accuracy.

The length of the book is mostly accounted for by the generous presentation of quoted material from the various sources discussed. The careful reader will develop a broad understanding of all the sources discussed and his efforts will be duly rewarded with a new found understanding of the human condition and the confusing world in which he lives today.

When crisis of enormous magnitude someday arises this book will be a beacon of sanity amidst the crumbling paradigms and toppling walls of a civilization gone awry.

I spent a whole summer devouring the Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand, using it for inspriational reading before my morning meditations. Then, I read it even more thoroughly a second time about six months later, gaining more insights and a deeper understanding of prophecy and its relevance for today's world. This scholarly work is carefully researched, and the author's message is profound. I believe it to be a unique work of comparative prophecy, offering up brand new ideas, which provides some exciting "missing pieces" to ancient prophecies. The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand, by Edmund Roache, M.D., looks at familiar scriptures and inspired writings with new eyes, and is a "must-read" for those who are open to new revelations. In a sense, this is new prophecy, for its message is fresh and original. Our chaotic upside-down world cries out for messages of hope for the future, and here is a powerful one!

This "Kingdom of Heaven" book sounds right up my alley. I especially liked the testimonial.
Sounds like a book work reading and discussing. We sure need to understand what is happening in this world of ours. We all need to be concerned. AD, Texas

I believe that Ed Roache is on to something. I have long believed that it is only by comparing literary prophecy are we able to arrive at accurate representations of prophecy. We are seeing signs in our times of the coming kingdom. Ed's book presents a compelling arrangement of texts that relate to these prophecies that are relevant to our time.

When I was in college, I stuided Emily Dickinson and frankly, did not get it. In my mind she was a depressed, whiny girl obsessed with death. In the context in which her writing it put in Ed's book, I see the points I missed. Her writings are obviously divinely inspired. What I know find so interesting is that I totally missed the whole thing without having put her into her proper context. That said, let me ask you all, "how much do we miss every single day in our world?" Thank God for Ed's book which shows us the power of comparative prophecy.

Finally, the truth, an explanation of prophecy that’s been given to mankind down through the ages. This book, “The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand”, by Ed Roache is a wonderful, inspiring, logical and believable writing about the times we are now living in.
It was also fascinating to learn the true identity of the long expected Messiah who is soon to come to this upside down weary world, we live in today. Dr Roache has shown the validity of many different writings in today’s world that reveal the truths that are there for all to see.
The book, “The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand” by Edmund J. Roache, explicitly explains what, according to prophecy will soon happen to those who choose to do God’s will. Of course this book also explains in great detail what will happen to those who choose not to do God’s will. As this book points out, the choices are ours to make, “as we choose so will we become.”

I am deeply impressed with the scholarship, the interpretations and conclusions of Dr. Roache. He has not only given us a fascinating journey through much of the major prophesy on our planet, he has added to it the Urantia Book - a very timely and powerful source of new information and new prophesy.

The great mass of the book is devoted to collecting (and quoting for immediate reference) the major prophecies and teachings of the Old Testament prophets. These quotations are followed by clear explanations and interpretations. Each prophet is treated individually (in chronological sequence) and at the same time the teachings of all the prophets are expertly woven together into a meaningful and coherent whole. This collection and organization of the cream of the prophetic teachings provides an unparalleled study of prophecy that both enlightens the reader and stimulates further study of prophecy from original sources.

Many fascinating topics are discussed, always with clear presentation and fresh insight. These include: the foretold history of Israel (past, present and future), the story of Abraham and his descendents, the historical record of the Jews, the Lost Ten Tribes, the meaning of "Israel" and "the elect" in prophecy, the Messiah, the final prophet, and America in prophecy."

I've reviewed a copy of this book and will order it. Times are such that we need all the information we can get to deal the world we are living in. I for one don't see an easy road ahead. We have a price to pay. The questions is can we survive the revolution within and without. For people who are not asleep, we are already in it folks and it ain't going to get any better until we get a grip on why we are here and what our purpose is in this world.
I look forward to reviewing other books you've selected for this site. I know you're new. Good luck!

I read parts of it last night on line and will probably order it because I need something bound that I can mark up. Some of the book appeared to be a bit dated, but I still got the signifcance of the work. God is talking to us through these works. Ed Roache is the new prophet who is pointing out these truths to humanity. He should do a web broadcast sort of like a virtual wailing wall. It has become hard for many people to read this type of text. Do you think he would ever broadcast a video presentation of himself?

I would also like to hear Ed Roache is some kind of pod cast. What are the chances that he will personally address his readers?

"The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand" by Dr. Roache, was written for the times we are now living in, interpreting the messages from the prophets of old written so very long ago. Ed Roache, in listening to the spirit of truth that dwells within, has discovered the secrets to the events that will occur in the near future. As we choose so will we become. -- Sharon

This is a statement about my association with Ed Roache to give a little more history about the writing of his book, "The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand".

The decision to actually make his year long study into a book was made on September 11, 1999. I know because we attended a one day conference together, along with others from nearby towns also interested in this conference we were attending on this Saturday in September. I know the date is correct because it is in the recorded minutes of the meetings of that day which also just happened to be the Jewish Holiday Rosh Hashanah.. It was in March of 2000 when he told me he was finished with his book and would have a manuscript copy of it available for me soon and in April 2000, I finally received the copy of that manuscript. This book, "The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand", by Dr Roache, has changed my life and realizations of the Kingdom of Heaven. The website http://www.inspiredbooks.com is devoted to this book and to the Kingdom of Heaven of the end times in which we are now living. This website is also dedicated to the realization of the Kingdom of Heaven Within which allows us to make the proper choices in the participation of future events.

Sharon: What does Dr. Roache mean by "end times"? The term can be quite deceiving.
I have not read the book but have heard about it.
If he's writing about the end of the world, I'm not interested. Please clarify. Thanks, Jack

Jack: The term "end times" means the end of the age in which we are now living. It does not mean the end of the world. Perhaps it's the end of the world as we now know it to be. In the final scenario, it will be a better place. Basicly, our upside down world will be turned right side up. In the mean time, there are a lot of decisions to be made and a lot of choices for each of us to make that will determine the part we each play in the unfolding of future events. Prophecy tells it all and as we sincerely search for truth, the real "Truth is mighty and it will prevail." -- Sharon

The Parable of the Tenants
"He(Jesus)then began to speak to them in parables: "A man planted a vineyard. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and went away on a journey. At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants to collect from them some of the fruit of the vineyard. But they seized him, beat him and sent him away empty-handed. Then he sent another servant to them; they struck this man on the head and treated him shamefully. He sent still another, and that one they killed. He sent many others; some of them they beat, others they killed. "He had one left to send, a son, whom he loved. He sent him last of all, saying, 'They will respect my son.' "But the tenants said to one another, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.' So they took him and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard. "What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others. Then they looked for a way to arrest him because they knew he had spoken the parable against them. But they were afraid of the crowd; so they left him and went away."
The above quote is from Mark 12 the NIV Bible.
"As in ancient Israel, the "leaders are misleaders," who lead so many so far astray. God expects leaders to be the shepherds of His children. What will happen when judgment comes to the nations and their leaders. The answer is the same as the one given by Jesus, when he concluded the parable of the absent landlord (UB) and asked, "what will the lord of the vineyard do to those ungrateful and wicked tenants (in our example shepherds)?" The present world is based on the principal Might makes Right. In the world of Melchizedek, King of Righteousness, the world will be based on Right makes Might.
The prophets have asked God for thousands of years over and over; "How long Lord? How long?" meaning how long will the strong trample the weak? How long will the arrogant govern the meek? God’s answer is that everything has a season to grow and yield its full fruit; we then reap what we sow. The sun is made to shine on the good and the evil. Remember the parable when the good man sows good seed, but while he is sleeping, an evil one sows weeds in the same field. And, when the weeds grow up with the good crop, the parable tells us that both good and bad will be allowed to reach harvest together. Then the field will be harvested and the good crop stored away and the weeds bound up and thrown into the fire. This is done because pulling the weeds up early would damage the good as well as the bad. The end of an age is a harvest time when everything is harvested and accounted for. The prophecy, "The meek shall inherit the earth" will finally become reality. Also, remember Jesus’ parable about the good landowner of the vineyard. The landowner leaves his beautiful vineyard in the hands of workmen who ransack his property and ruin his vineyard. The landowner sends his best servants, and then even his very own son to check on its progress. The son they kill, so as to deprive him of his inheritance, and Jesus then looks to the listening audience and asks, "What do you think the landowner will do?" In unison they answer, "he will destroy those men…" (UB).
This story is not only a parable. It is also a prophecy of Jesus’ (the son in the parable) subsequent death at the hands of the leaders of Jerusalem who are playing the role of the workmen left in charge. Israel is the vineyard and God is the landowner who sends his son Jesus to set right the spiritual affairs of Israel. But Jesus is killed by the very ones causing the trouble in the first place, the workmen left in charge, i.e. the leaders of Israel.
But wait! The parable prophecy hasn’t ended yet because God has not yet sent anyone to bring justice to the vineyard workers, i.e. the leaders. The parable will end, when God’s Agent of Justice arrives and sets the affairs of His "vineyard" aright, just as at the ending of the parable. This is exactly the function of the "Messiah" described in Old Testament prophecy. Not only was Jesus aware of his upcoming death, but he also was aware that the complete story would someday end like his parable ended. The word messiah is used several times in 1Enoch in association with a divine being who brings peace and victory to those who "elect" God’s will during the end of the Age. This Messiah figure in 1Enoch is called the Elect One, the Concealed One, the Mighty One, and God of the World. The word messiah means anointed in spirit, and when capitalized, Messiah means the Anointed One over all other anointed ones. The word "Christ" simply is the Greek translation of the word "Messiah." Essentially, we have named Jesus "Christ" for precisely what he is not, i.e. "Messiah." When Jesus came, people were looking for the World Messiah and mostly missed recognizing the Spiritual Savior. This time around Christians are looking for the Spiritual Savior and alas –the World Messiah comes. Humanity gets it wrong both times. No one can say that we’re not consistent."

Books on comparative prophecy are hard to come by, especially if they are authentic. I'm interested in Roache's insights into the Scrolls and Emily Dickenson's work.
I have always believed that Dickenson was a true prophet. She wrote for the few.
I have found the Scrolls compliment the Old Testament prophets. Enoch is interesting and the real thing. Impressive. James Wood, NC

One must rely on the spirit of truth, the spirit within, to show us the truth. When going through the different writings, we must search for the truth in all things. It is a thrill to be able to identify with these truths of the river of truth running down through the ages of mankind on this planet of which we live. May we each have that sincere search for truth and be able to recognize it in each facet of our lives.

Doctor Roache has much to say about prophecy in the Scrolls, Enoch, and Emily Dickinson in his book. He also uses other writings in the comparisons, to find the inspired conclusions of his all encompassing and continuing search for truth.
